WHAT MAKES OUR FABRICS SO SPECIAL?
Westfalenstoffe leave their fabrics as untreated as possible making them exceptionally sturdy. Easy-care and wrinkle-resistant treatments are avoided ensuring fabrics maintain their natural stability. As a general rule, synthetic resins are not used.
All our fabrics are Oëko-Tex100 certified meaning that toxic substances like allergenic dyes are not used at any stage of processing and so our fabrics present minimal health risks.
All our organic fabrics are guarenteed to meet the internationally recognised Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) meaning that the cotton is from certified organic sources. It also means that no substances considered harmful to health or the environment are used in their production like formaldehyde, azoic dyes or heavy metals.
As well as being free from harmful substances. Westfalenstoffe fabrics exhibit very little shrinkage and textiles are coloured using reactive dye and printing process. In short this is important as dyes permeate the fibers instead of merely resting on the surface as in pigment printing. This ensures a high level of rub fastness while leaving the fabric soft and much more durable.
