Welcome to my shop. I hope you are enjoying your visit and loving my beautiful range of quality craft fabrics.

All my fat quarters and fabric bundles are measured and sold in centimeters. However I do provide the equivalent measurements in inches as a guide. If you are unsure of pattern repeats or would like more photos I’m always happy to oblige. Just get in touch via

Fabrics & Frills is a smoke free environment.

All my textiles are designed and manufactured to exacting quality and ecological standards by Westfalenstoffe, a family run German business and makers of fine fabrics for almost 80 years.

All my fabrics are made from the best quality 100 % cotton sourced from Egypt, Syria and Pakistan. The cottons grown in these areas yield longer fibres which results in far fewer slubs or knots in the finished textiles.

And all cotton fabrics meet the Öko-Tex-Standard 100 standard meaning they have been manufactured using no harmful chemicals. This makes them ideal for children’s clothing and toys, soft furnishings, quilting, patchwork or indeed any creative craft project.

My listings change on a regular basis so do add me to your favorites and pop by from time to time to see what’s new.

I do my utmost to accurately represent my products but please do bear in mind that all computer monitors differ in their setup and this could affect the image colour that you see.

Fabric Care
For fabrics made in 100% cotton, we recommend machine washing at 30° Celsius (86° Fahrenheit). We advise against using spin and dryer cycles.

Please wash dark colours separately.

A useful tip - adding a cup of household vinegar to your final rinse will help prevents felting and helps keep colours bright and vibrant for years to come.

What makes Westfalenstoffe fabrics so special?
Westfalenstoffe leave their fabrics as untreated as possible making them exceptionally sturdy. Easy-care and wrinkle-resistant treatments are avoided ensuring fabrics maintain their natural stability. As a general rule, synthetic resins are not used.

Virtually all Westfalenstoffe fabrics meet the Öko-Tex100 standard and those fabrics marked as organic contain materials from certified organic sources and also meet the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).

As well as being free from harmful substances. Westfalenstoffe fabrics exhibit very little shrinkage and textiles are coloured using reactive dye and printing process. In short this is important the dyes permeate the fibers instead of merely resting on the surface as in pigment printing. This ensures a high level of rub fastness while leaving the fabric soft and much more durable.

What does Oeko-Tex®-Standard 100 mean?
This standard signifies that a material has passed tests for harmful substances in every phase of its processing and so presents minimal health risks. This standard go beyond the already strict requirements provided for by law governing use of toxic substances. Use of azoic and other allergenic dyes is prohibited and restrictions also apply to the following:

• Formaldehyde is completely prohibited or restricted according to international laws.
• Pesticide content of materials must not be higher than that of fruits and vegetables.
• Carcinogenic and allergenic dyes are prohibited, meaning that materials must be pH-balanced and contain no questionable pigments.
• Clothing for infants must be resistant to perspiration and spittle and present no risks should it find its way into children’s mouths.

Only textile manufacturers who undergo strict testing and monitoring procedures and provide verifiable quality assurance are allowed to sell products bearing the Oeko-Tex®-Standard 100 label.

What does Certified Organic Cultivation (kbA) mean?
Where marked our fabrics are Certified Organic Cultivation which means we can guarantee that there has been:
• No use of synthetic fertilizers
• No use of chemical-synthetic pesticides
• No use of genetically modified organisms
• No use of defoliants (hand-harvesting required)
• Fair trade and fair compensation
• No child or forced labour

What is GOTS or the Global Organic Textile Standard
To receive GOTS certification, materials such as cotton, new wool, silk, and linen must be at least 70% organic in their fibre composition; the standard also specifies exactly how the fibres may be processed and what substances may be used in doing so. No substances that could harm one’s health or the environment may be used in the production of GOTS-certified textiles, which precludes formaldehyde, azoic dyes, and heavy metals. In addition, manufacturers’ compliance with minimum social standards of fair production, such as the working conditions in cotton fields, is rigorously monitored.
